Would unorthodox be a word to describe your culinary preferences? Canadian Pizza Summit Champion and corporate chef for Armando's Pizza, Dean Litster AKA Professor Zaaa, is leading a Detroit Deep-Dish pizza class, that’s far from the ordinary.

The rectangular-shaped Motor City pie, has an extra thick chewy crust, but maintains a very crispy bottom. While it does share resemblance to it’s other deep-dish cousins, it has a peculiar past. Historically, its shape was the result of being baked in a metal 8-inch-by-10-inch or 10-inch-by-14-inch drip trays, which were repurposed from the automotive industry.
